PRODUCTION Canadian chicken production from January 1 to July 31, 2010 was up 0.3% (1.6 M kg) compared to the same time period a year ago. [Alberta chicken production during the same time frame is up 4.06% (2.93 M kg) versus a year ago.]
CONSUMPTION Canadian chicken consumption from January 1 to July 31, 2010 was down 0.5% compared to the same time period a year ago.
IMPORTS Canadian Total Imports from January 1 to July 31, 2010 is at 84.337 M kgs vs 94.975 M kgs for the same time period a year ago. This represents 11.2% (10.638 M kgs) decrease in imports versus same time frame in 2009.
EXPORTS Canadian Total Exports January 1 to July 31, 2010 is at 70.868 M kgs vs 74.112 M kgs same time period a year ago. This represents 4.4% (3.244 M kg) decrease in exports versus same time frame in 2009.
INVENTORY

Canadian 'Frozen Chicken Inventory' on August 1, 2010 was 34.496 M kg vs 35.488 M kgs on August 1, 2009. This represents an decrease of 2.8% (0.991 M kgs) vs August 1, 2009. Compared to the previous month, (July 1, 2010) inventory is up 0.101 M kgs or 0.3%.
